Rogue pulls off biggest show to date

Despite taking on additional responsibilities beyond the running of our own show (ill fated as those might have been), despite the noted absence of two of RC's core members and work-horse GM's, and the eventual unexplained disappearance of a third and despite the cancellation of two Shubby Sunday events, Rogue Cthulhu managed to successfully service more players and run more event hours than ever before.

This year's absence of Jeff and Don, left a lot of work for the remaining Rogue GM's. Per capita event hours were reaching record levels. When Mike disappeared, that left a deficit of over twenty hours of events. But to the credit of all the remaining RC gang, nearly all of those hours were covered. And with the on-site addition of four slots ran by Shoggoth.net's David and Matt, even those players who signed up for slots which were supposed to be canceled before the show began (but were mistakenly never removed from the database) had a good time. The only events which were canceled on-site due to the massive manpower shortage, were the two Shubby Sunday events. With the addition of those extra events, our number of event hours rose to its highest level ever, even after figuring in the last minute cancellation of the two Sunday events.

All of Rogue Cthulhu's GM's who rose to the occasion are deserving of the highest accolades for their outstanding performance under an incredible workload. Thank you all!

Rogue GM goes MIA

Regular visitors to the Rogue Room this year may have noticed a little more tension in the air this year (more than normal, anyway). Lots of concerned looks, tired GM's, frequent visits from GAMA directors, and the occasional appearance of Columbus City Police may have caught your attention. Whispers about a missing person soon circulate. Sadly, these rumors were TRUE. Late Thursday night, after his appearance in "And Then There Was One", long time Rogue GM, Mike "Squatch" Haslar, vanished without a trace. No word, no note, no hint, no clue. No fight, no qualm, no reason. No answer to the dozens of calls to his cell phone, just gone.

After he failed to show up for two consecutive scheduled events, the rest of the Rogue Cthulhu team called out the hounds. All attending RC members pitched in to join the search, and cover the empty event slots. GAMA was notified and helped with the search, and eventually, a missing persons report was filed with the Columbus police department. All to no avail. By the end of the con on Sunday afternoon, Mike has still not been successfully contacted or located.

However, this story does have a happy ending. Squatch was successfully contacted the following Monday at his work. He was unharmed and finally the search could be called off. Mike apologized for his disappearance, but gave no explanation besides to say that he was experiencing "personal problems". The other good news was, that all of his events were covered by the outstanding devotion of the other Rogue GM's. Great job guys!

Origins 2004 event schedule errata

A few changes to our posted event schedule needed to be made after the pre-registration and on-site books went to print. For those of you who were looking forward to events that have been canceled, we apologize. Tickets purchased for canceled events will be refunded through GAMA. CLICK HERE to see the corrected event schedule.

All RC's events moved to C113 (Origins 2004)

Due to a communication snafu, Rogue Cthulhu had been assigned to a room that was too small to accommodate our lighting rig (C125). After a considerable 11th hour effort on the part of the new RPG coordinator, Andrew Lockwood, and a gracious sacrifice by our brothers-in-arms, Amorphous Blob Games, Rogue has been moved to a larger room. Please note that the On-Site book has already gone to print, so it will not reflect the room change. However we will have our larger than life banner of Pirate Pete to help you find your way. Our whole hearted thanks go out to the GAMA Staff and to Amorphous Blob for their instrumental help in solving this problem on such short notice. You're the best!

Rogue Cthulhu to run Cthulhuthon '04

GAMA has entrusted the administration of this year's Cthulhuthon to your favorite band of rebels, Rogue Cthulhu. The Cthulhuthon will include not only all R.C. events, but events from Chaosium and a few independent GMs. All manner of Lovecraftian genre gaming is included in this special track for which gamers can buy a special ribbon to access all of its events (registration for specific events still required to reserve seating, see the Origins home page for more details). In addition to the Rogue Points we will be handing out for all R.C. events, GAMA will be giving out prizes for Cthulhuthon events by means of GMs voting for their favorite players. These prizes will be awarded on Sunday in the Rogue Cthulhu room (C125).

Oh yeah!
